TWO MCHS STUDENTS SELECTED AS NHS NATIONAL SEMIFINALISTS
EDMONTON, Ky. (May 7, 2021) –Metcalfe County High School is proud to announce two seniors have been selected as National Honor Society (NHS) scholarship winners.
Annika Reed and Macy Welsh were named national semifinalists with each awarded a $3,200 scholarship. There were only 14 national semifinalists from the state of Kentucky.
“This is the first time in school history that we have had two applicants in one year receive a scholarship,” said NHS sponsor Kelly Shaw. “We are very excited about the success of Macy and Annika and wish them continued success in their futures.”
The National Honor Society recognizes students for their academic achievements and challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
Since 1946, more than $19 million in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding NHS senior members. The scholarship program is supported by the parent organization of NHS, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
