The Metcalfe County High School Hornets are District Football Champions! Metcalfe defeated Edmonson County on Nov. 27 by a score of 34-27 to win the Class 2A District 3 Championship.
It's the first district title for MCHS football since 2007. After the win, the team enjoyed a fan escort home and a police escort around the Edmonton square.
The Hornets (6-2) travel to Lexington Christian (8-1) on Friday, Dec. 4 for the quarterfinals of the Class 2A 2020 UK Orthopaedics/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl. The game will be played at Lexington Catholic High School at 2250 Clays Mill Road.
