EDMONTON, Ky. (January 12, 2022) – The Metcalfe County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.


January is School Board Recognition Month. Superintendent Josh Hurt thanked all five board members, Joey Shive, Tim Brown, John Caffee, Robin McMurtrey, and Donnie Perry, for their service to Metcalfe County Schools. In addition, Freeda Reece, with Edmonton State Bank, presented the board members with a token of appreciation from the district’s longtime financial partner.


On the agenda, the board approved a draft budget for the 2022-2023 school year and accepted an offer of assistance from the Kentucky School Facilities Construction Commission in the amount of $7,763. The board also approved the 2022 Comprehensive District Improvement Plan. Click here to view the CDIP.


The board recognized Alivia Stines as the January Student of the Month. Alivia is a senior at Metcalfe County High School. Stephanie Blythe, guidance secretary at MCHS, was recognized as the Classified Employee of the Month, and Assistant Principal Rachel Dial was recognized as the Certified Employee of the Month.
