Hornets Win 4th Region All "A" Classic

4th Region All A Classic

The Metcalfe County High School boys basketball team won the 4th Region All "A" Classic by defeating Monroe County 51-38 on Jan. 17. Boston Devore, Wyatt Fields, and Peyton Dial were named to the All-Tournament Team. Braxton Davis was named to the All "A' Academic Team. (Click "read more" to see photos.)

 

The Hornets will now play in the Kentucky All "A" Classic state tournament in Richmond, Ky. Metcalfe (12-7) will face Louisville Holy Cross (12-5) on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 11:30 EST at EKU's McBrayer Arena. Tickets are $8 each and will be sold at MCHS on Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-2pm. T-shirts will be available through our new Hornet Enterprises (next to the new Wellness Center) on Wednesday.

Tanner Jessie Competes for USA Football

MCHS sophomore Tanner Jessie was invited to compete for a position on the USA Football team in Arlington, Texas. Out of 4,200 athletes, he was chosen to advance to the second round of tryouts and was selected as a member of the National USA Football Team. He started as an offensive lineman in the game that was televised on ESPN3. 

Commencement Held for January Graduates

January Grads 2020

Commencement exercises were held on Jan. 17 for the first 2020 graduates of Metcalfe County High School. Six students have fulfilled their academic requirements and received their diplomas during a ceremony held at the auditorium.
