Superintendent's Message

Josh Hurt

Let me take a moment to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Josh Hurt and I am beginning my first year as Metcalfe County Superintendent, but my 24th year in public education. My family and I moved to Metcalfe County six years ago and we quickly found a warm and welcoming community that we have been proud to make home.

I have been able to work with outgoing superintendent Dr. Benny Lile to a great extent and look forward to picking up where he left off. I know our entire community will miss Dr. Lile’s presence as superintendent, and I certainly have big shoes to fill. But, I can’t wait to lead our schools into the future and build on the good work that has been done in the past. To that end, Metcalfe County Schools has been and will continue to be a place where each student can learn, experience, and grow in a safe and friendly environment.

Our schools offer a variety of educational opportunities and we strive to meet the needs of each and every child. I encourage you to look into all the many options we can offer, and take advantage of the many learning opportunities available here at Metcalfe County Schools. We will continue to find innovative ways to make the student experience a memorable one. Please feel free to contact our schools or central office with any questions or concerns you may have.
