Molly Matney, 20, was crowned 2017 Miss Kentucky on July 1 in Lexington, Ky. Molly, who entered the pageant as Miss Mammoth Cave Area, was one of 30 contestants from across the state competing for the title. She will now compete for Miss America. The 97th Miss America pageant will take place on September 10 in Atlantic City and will air live on ABC starting at 8pm central time.
Molly graduated from Metcalfe County High School in 2015. She will be a junior this fall at Western Kentucky University where she is studying agriculture. Her platform during her reign as Miss Kentucky will be "Farm Fit" which will be teaching the importance of eating healthy and promoting locally grown products.
