Runners Break Records at Track Meet

Tavarson SmithAllie Thomas

Tavarson Smith and Allie Thomas are now in the Metcalfe County record books. On April 16, Tavarason broke the school's 200m record, and Allie broke a school record in the 3200m that goes back to 1997. Congratulations to both student-athletes!

Elizabeth Decker Named Governor's Scholar

Elizabeth Decker

Metcalfe County High School junior Elizabeth Decker has been selected as a 2019 Governor’s Scholar. ‚ÄčThe Governor’s Scholars Program is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors. The Program’s mission is to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders. In order to participate in the Program, students must be nominated by their high schools and then compete on a state-wide level. Selection for the program is highly competitive, with an application process similar to that of prestigious colleges and universities.

Robert Haskins Places in State SkillsUSA Contest

Robert Haskins

Metcalfe County High School senior Robert Haskins placed 2nd in the state in Cabinet Making at the annual SkillsUSA Kentucky Leadership and Skills Championships. Monroe ATC also had a 1st place winner for Cabinet Making and 2nd place winner for Electrical Construction
